Job Description

Job Summary:

  • Perform routine and ambulatory EEGs) in the department as well as bedside routines for adults and pediatrics.
  • Perform Long Term Monitoring hookups for all inpatient populations.
  • Work in a wide variety of hospital environments (ICU, regular floor) with patient types including neonate through adult patient populations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and monitor advanced neurodiagnostic procedures, including EEG, EMG/NCS (as applicable), evoked potentials, and long-term EEG/video monitoring.
  • Prepare patients for testing by explaining procedures, obtaining accurate clinical histories, and ensuring proper electrode placement according to established standards.
  • Identify and troubleshoot technical artifacts, maintain equipment performance, and ensure high-quality diagnostic recordings for physician interpretation.
  • Recognize critical neurological abnormalities or patient status changes during testing and promptly communicate urgent findings to the supervising physician or clinical team.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, adhere to infection control and patient safety protocols, and mentor junior technologists while supporting quality improvement initiatives.

Education:

  • HS Diploma/GED.
  • Graduate/Certificate from an accredited Neurodiagnostic Program and must have completed a clinical Neurodiagnostic internship.

Certifications:

  • ABRET – R.
  • EEG T – preferred.
  • BLS – AHA.
