Job Description

Job Summary:

• Under the limited supervision of the Neurodiagnostic Tech Educator or delegated team member, prepares patients for routine Electroencephalography (EEG), Electromyography (EMG), long-term monitoring, intraoperative monitoring, evoked potentials, nerve conduction velocity testing, autonomic testing, WADA, and PET procedures in the laboratory, at the bedside, and in critical care units for patients of all ages.
• Responsibilities also include charge capture, patient scheduling, documentation, and supporting department operations.

Required Education:

• High school graduate or equivalent is required.

Preferred Education:

• Graduate of an accredited Neurodiagnostic Technology program accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalography E Evoked Potentials (ABRET).

Required Certifications & Licensure:

• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.

Preferred Certifications & Licensure:

• Registered by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET) in a minimum of 1 of the following:
• Registered Electroencephalography Technologist (EEG), Registered Nerve Conduction Velocity Testing(EMG/NCV), Certified Autonomic Professional (CAP), Certified Long Term Monitoring Technologist (CLTM), Registered Evoked Potential Technologist.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Proven ability to perform Electroencephalography (EEG) required.
• 2+ years of Neurodiagnostic Technician experience preferred.
• Experience with Long-Term Monitoring preferred.
• Experience with Evoked Potentials preferred.
• Experience with Nerve Conduction Velocity Testing preferred.
• Experience with Autonomic Testing preferred.
• Experience with Magnetoencephalography preferred.
• Electroencephalography (EEG), Electrode Application, International 10-20 System, Patient History Documentation, Neurodiagnostic Procedures, EEG Recordings, Electrode Impedance Testing, Activation Procedures, Continuous EEG, EMU (Epilepsy Monitoring Unit), Long-Term Monitoring, Evoked Potentials, Electromyography (EMG), Nerve Conduction Velocity Testing (NCV), Autonomic Testing, Intraoperative Monitoring, WADA, PET, Magnetoencephalography, Documentation, Charge Capture, Patient Scheduling, Technical Troubleshooting.
