Job Description
Job Summary:
- Under general supervision, performs computerized tomography (CT) imaging procedures on patients.
- May also perform general diagnostic radiology examinations and other related duties as required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Explain imaging procedures to patients and prepare them for examinations.
- Review clinical requisitions and patient medical history before performing exams.
- Prepare CT procedure rooms and maintain stock of necessary supplies.
- Operate CT equipment and position patients to obtain accurate diagnostic images.
- Manually control imaging equipment to capture required diagnostic information.
- Administer IV contrast media using power injectors and monitor patients for reactions.
- Assist Radiologists with complex sterile diagnostic procedures such as biopsies.
- Follow radiation safety protocols including shielding and ALARA techniques.
- Ensure image quality and proper image delivery to PACS.
- Complete exam documentation and indexing within RIS.
- Confirm imaging protocols with the Radiologist prior to performing studies.
- Maintain accurate patient documentation for clinical and billing purposes.
- Demonstrate professional standards including communication, teamwork, and customer service.
Required Education:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ongoing continuing medical education as required.
Required Certifications & Licensure:
- ARRT (CT) certification or registry eligible.
- BLS certification.
Required Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of CT experience.
- Experience with Client and Philips CT systems.
- Workstation experience.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:
- Work may be in hospital CT units or mobile imaging units.
- Potential exposure to radiation and high-voltage equipment (with safety precautions).
- Possible exposure to infectious patients.
- May occasionally lift or move equipment/patients exceeding 10 lbs.
