Job Description

Job Summary:

  • Prepares for and assists physician in all procedures done in the Cardiovascular Lab. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supports the policies and procedures of client and division of patient care services with a special emphasis placed on the needs of the patient undergoing invasive testing in the Cardiac Cath and Electrophysiology Labs.
  • Collects, documents, records and calculates pertinent patient data.
  • Assist physician with all diagnostic and interventional procedures.
  • Prepares and instructs patients pre and post procedure. Developing communication skills with all customers internal and external.
  • Performs basic radiologic functions including acquiring, processing, and storing digital images, basic equipment troubleshooting and radiation safety. Able to complete Safety Event reports for advanced exposure.
  • Under the direct supervision of MD: Synchronous/asynchronous defibrillation; medication preparation including accurate labeling contents within syringes.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly patient care environment & sterile field.
  • Familiar with basic diagnostic and procedural supplies along with location within the procedure rooms, core room and carts.
  • Accurate scanning of Space Trax for supplies.

Required Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an accredited Cardiovascular Technologist program.
    OR
  • Two (2) years of field experience as an allied Health professional such as CVT, Radiology Tech, Anesthesia Tech, or Paramedic.

Required Certifications & Licensure:

  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS).

Minimum Degree Required:

  • Completed High School (Diploma or GED)
