Medical Lab Technician

Job Description

Job Summary:

• Under the supervision of a laboratory technologist or supervisor, performs procedures on blood and other specimens using manual techniques and laboratory instruments.
• May perform phlebotomy as needed.

Required Education:

• Completion of an Associate Degree Program in Medical Laboratory Technology or Laboratory Science.

Required Certification & Licensure: 

• Certification from a recognized national certifying agency (ASCP or NCA).

Required Skills & Experience:

• Experience working in Chemistry lab.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Strong technical and theoretical knowledge of laboratory functions.
• Minimum 2–3 years in a similar role.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Experience with AU system preferred.
• Experience with Sunquest LIS and lab automation preferred.
