Mammography Technologist

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Performs radiologic mammography exams per department protocol including advanced Mammography procedures like stereotactic biopsies, clip placements, drainages
• Perform the quality control functions related to mammography
• Perform mammography procedures in a technically proficient manner
• The Mammography Tech in this department provides care for adult patients between 18 to 64 years
• Perform high quality radiologic and mammography exams on incoming patients
• Assess patient’s medical condition, age, size and other related medical conditions to determine if patient is able to undergo mammography examination and to how best to obtain optimal results/images
• Immobilize patient as required for appropriate examination, explaining the need for breast compression during mammography
• Assume responsibility for mammography equipment and reports equipment malfunction
• Demonstrates the ability to operate mammography and biopsy equipment properly
• Conducts daily, weekly and monthly QC testing to ensure the quality control functions related to mammography

Required Qualifications:

• 1+ year of experience as a Mammography Technologist
• Active BLS Required (AHA)
• Active ARRT Required (Mammography)
• Active CRT Required (Mammography)
