Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic cardiac and/or vascular ultrasound procedures.
- Provide accurate imaging and measurements for cardiologist diagnosis.
- Deliver immediate preliminary reports of critical findings to physicians and nurses.
- Perform adult and/or pediatric echocardiography including TEE and stress echo.
- Conduct vascular procedures (arterial, renal, transcranial Doppler).
- Review patient history and relevant data prior to procedures.
- Operate ultrasound equipment and related diagnostic tools efficiently.
- Notify physicians of abnormal results and assist in clinical interpretation.
- Assist physicians in complex procedures (TAVR, SAVR, Tandem heart, Lariet, pseudoaneurysm compression) across OR, Cath lab, and Hybrid lab.
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation of procedures and patient data.
- Ensure proper charting, billing, and departmental tracking.
- Support departmental efficiency, scheduling, and resource utilization.
- Participate in QA programs and accreditation processes.
- Maintain infection control, safety, and confidentiality standards.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members and communicate effectively with physicians and staff.
Required Education:
- High School Diploma or GED.
Preferred Education:
- Graduate of Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound or Cardiac Ultrasound program.
Required Certifications:
- RDCS or RVT (ARDMS) OR RCS or RVS (CCI).
- BLS Certification.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 6 months of related experience.
- Ability to work independently and apply critical thinking.
- Strong communication skills with physicians and healthcare staff.
- Ability to participate in on-call rotation.
