MRI Technologist

Job Description

Job Summary:

• Under the supervision of a Radiologist, the MRI Technologist performs magnetic resonance imaging procedures on ambulatory and inpatient populations according to physician orders and established protocols.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform high-quality MRI procedures in a timely manner following exam protocols.
• Verify patient identity, review history, and ensure correct exam is performed.
• Prepare and position patients appropriately for imaging procedures.
• Communicate effectively with patients and families, explaining procedures and ensuring comfort.
• Adhere to all safety, infection control, and MRI screening policies.
• Maintain imaging equipment and report operational concerns as needed.
• Accurately document imaging records and maintain compliance with departmental standards.
• Ensure proper screening of all individuals entering MRI zones.

Required Certifications:

• MRT.
• ARRT (MR).
• BLS (AHA Only).

Experience Required:

• Minimum 2 years of MRI experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to perform MRI procedures independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong patient communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and emergency procedures.
