Job Description
Job Summary:
- The CT Technologist performs a wide range of routine and advanced imaging procedures, supporting efficient patient flow and providing technical assistance to fellow imaging staff.
- This role includes troubleshooting imaging equipment and PACS issues, supporting QA processes, and maintaining professional standards in line with hospital policies.
- Flexibility is expected for shift changes and working at other campuses as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform CT and X-ray procedures as required to support patient throughput.
- Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and confidentiality standards.
- Troubleshoot imaging equipment and escalate issues when necessary.
- Ensure proper scanning and storage of completed exams in PACS.
- Follow PACS downtime protocols and act as a PACS Superuser when needed.
- Adapt patient care methods based on age-specific and developmental needs.
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and team members to promote optimal workflow and patient satisfaction.
- Maintain professional conduct and adhere to organizational mission, values, and policies.
- Participate in ongoing education and training related to imaging advancements and safety standards.
- Flexibly work other shifts and campuses as required.
Education:
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program (or equivalent).
Experience:
- 1 year of CT experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred.
- Basic computer skills required.
Licenses & Certifications:
- ARRT certification in Radiography (R) or Nuclear Medicine (ARRT or NMTCB).
- ARRT or NMTCB certification in Computed Tomography (CT) – required.
- Texas MRT license (Medical Radiologic Technologist) – required.
- BLS certification from AHA – required.
