Job Summary:
- Under general supervision, will evaluate, diagnose and recommend a treatment plan for communication Client‐orders of speech and language.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Upon physician referral, performs evaluations of speech, hearing and swallowing difficulties, makes a preliminary diagnosis and develops treatment plans
- Determines the need for individual or group therapy on each client.
- Documents client’s progress.
- Assists students in clinical rotations in meeting objectives.
General Responsibilities:
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education:
- Master’s Degree in Speech and Language Pathology.
Required Certifications & Licensure:
- Licensed by the Oklahoma State Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.
- Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Outpatient hospital-based experience required.
- Knowledge of the normal development of speech, language and hearing.
- Ability to perform diagnostic tests for communication disorders and formulates a treatment plan.
- Must be able to interact in a patient, encouraging manner with clients to understand their communication needs and assist them in achieving the pro‐gram goals specific to them.
- Good interpersonal skills with customers, co-workers and clients.
- Must be able to display patience when client’s frustration level is high.
