Job Description
Job Summary:
- The Pharmacy Technician works under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist to assist with the preparation and distribution of medications and inventory management in a hospital or retail setting.
- The technician is responsible for maintaining regulatory compliance and ensuring medication safety and accuracy.
- Rotational shifts and assignments across different areas and times are required based on department needs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications and maintaining drug inventory.
- Rotate through assignments and shifts to meet operational demands of the pharmacy.
- Receive, return, and deliver medications and supply carts to various hospital units.
- Operate and troubleshoot automated dispensing equipment and systems.
- Maintain attention to detail and complete assigned tasks within required timeframes.
- Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local pharmacy regulations and policies.
Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of pharmacy experience – Required.
- Experience in pharmacy dispensing, sterile processing, or IV room operations – Preferred.
Language Skills:Â
- Spanish-speaking – Preferred.
Certifications:Â
- NYSED registered Pharmacy Technician.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to work flexible shifts and rotating tours.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with pharmacy equipment and medication safety protocols.
- Must adhere to institutional and regulatory standards.
