Job Summary:
- The Radiologic Technologist I is responsible for obtaining diagnostic radiographic examinations at a technical level not requiring constant supervision.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Produce diagnostic radiographic images by positioning patients, selecting technical factors, and operating equipment.
- Restrict radiation beam through collimating devices to avoid unnecessary exposure.
- Perform portable x-ray exams in various hospital settings.
- Properly mark films and develop them using appropriate methods.
- Maintain patient and film records with accurate documentation.
- Maintain orderly x-ray room and assist with radiopaque contrast administration.
- Perform administrative tasks like appointment scheduling, records management, and reception duties.
- Assist patients with mobility needs and ensure safe positioning.
- Lift/push/pull as required and stand for extended periods.
- Modify care based on patient-specific needs (age, culture, impairment, etc.).
- Adhere to medical center competencies and safety standards.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology.
- Completion of clinical and A.R.R.T. requirements.
Licensure & Certifications:
- Must possess New Jersey State Radiologic Technologist license
- Must meet eligibility and pass examination for National Registry
Required Skills & Experience:
- Radiology OR experience required.
- Use of C-arm, O-arm, and portable imaging required.
