Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepares patient for examination focusing on patient comfort and satisfaction, explains the procedure in easy-to-understand terms, performs ultrasound procedures, relieves patients of pre-testing anxiety and directly observes and monitors the patient during the entire process.
- Sets-up equipment to administer procedures in a timely fashion.
- Carefully reviews prior reports and images, and patient chart.
- Ensures that proper images have been obtained, studies are complete and thorough, appropriate techniques have been employed, reader is notified.
- Maintains records and logs exams performed.
- Maintains control of inventory and purchases of supplies for the assigned area.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
Preferred Education:
- Graduate of CAAHEP or ABHES Cardiovascular Technology Program preferred.
Required Certifications & Licensure:
- Registered Cardiac Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from American.
