Job Description

Job Summary:

• Performs cardiac ultrasound evaluations.
• Communicates acute findings to the Cardiologist and routes studies for interpretation.
• Obtains pertinent patient health history prior to examinations.
• Prepares procedure rooms and equipment for daily use.
• Ensures timely and efficient room preparation between procedures.
• Troubleshoots equipment issues and reports problems to the appropriate supervisor.
• May provide staff training and education.

Required Education Certifications & Licensure:

• Accredited Associate’s Degree in Sonography, Radiology or a related field.
• Completion of a twelve (12) month ultrasound program.
• BLS
• One of the following is required:
• RDCS certified through ARDMS.
• RCS, ACS and RCCS certified through CCI.

Required Skills & Experience:

• No prior experience required unless otherwise stipulated by the Unit Leader.
