Job Summary:
- Under general supervision, the CT Technologist performs computerized tomography (CT) imaging procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating patients.
- The role may also involve performing general diagnostic radiology exams while ensuring high-quality patient care, safety, and imaging standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform CT imaging procedures according to physician orders and departmental protocols.
- Ensure patient safety, comfort, and proper positioning during examinations.
- Operate and maintain CT equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
- Administer contrast media when appropriate and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
- Follow radiation safety guidelines and ALARA principles.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- May perform general diagnostic radiology procedures as needed.
- Adhere to all hospital, state, and federal regulations and standards.
Education Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must maintain all required continuing education credits.
Certification & Licensure Requirements:
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Advanced Registry in Computed Tomography (CT) or CT Registry-Eligible.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Healthcare Provider level).
Required Experience:
- 1 year of minimum experience required.
