Job Description
Job Summary:
- The MRI Technologist performs high-quality MRI examinations on inpatient and outpatient populations under the supervision of a Radiologist.
- The role involves ensuring patient safety, producing diagnostic-quality images, and delivering exceptional patient care while following established protocols.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform MRI procedures according to department protocols and physician orders.
- Prepare, position, and educate patients for MRI examinations.
- Verify patient identity, medical history, and required documentation.
- Screen patients for MRI safety and contraindications.
- Ensure patient comfort while maintaining image quality.
- Maintain MRI equipment and report any operational issues.
- Follow infection control, safety, and quality assurance standards.
- Maintain accurate imaging records and documentation.
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and healthcare team members.
- Participate in emergency response and provide first aid when necessary.
- Assist with training and mentoring new staff as needed.
Requirements:
- ARRT (MR) Certification.
- BLS Certification (AHA Only).
- Minimum 5 years of MRI experience.
- Level I Trauma experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of MRI safety protocols and patient care.
