Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic cardiac and/or vascular ultrasound procedures with accuracy and efficiency.
- Conduct adult and/or pediatric cardiac ultrasound procedures including TEE and stress echo.
- Perform peripheral vascular procedures including arterial, renal, and transcranial Doppler studies.
- Review patient history, reports, and clinical data prior to procedures.
- Operate ultrasound equipment and ancillary devices to obtain optimal diagnostic imaging.
- Communicate abnormal or critical findings promptly to physicians and healthcare staff.
- Assist physicians during complex procedures in OR, Hybrid Lab, Cath Lab, and CAD including TAVR, SAVR, Tandem Heart, Lariet procedures, and pseudoaneurysm compression.
- Maintain accurate documentation, procedural tracking, charting, and charging data.
- Support departmental QA, accreditation, and educational activities.
- Ensure infection control, patient safety, and confidentiality standards are maintained.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, surgeons, nurses, and healthcare staff.
- Schedule patients efficiently and assist with departmental cost containment initiatives.
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Graduate of Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound or Cardiac Ultrasound program preferred.
Required Certifications/Licensure:
- RDCS or RVT through ARDMS.
- RCS or RVS through CCI.
- BLS certification required.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 6 months of related cardiac/vascular ultrasound experience.
- Must have 2–3 years of overall experience.
- At least 1 year of previous traveler experience required.
- Ability to work independently and utilize critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication skills with physicians, surgeons, and healthcare teams.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Experience with Impella, LVAD, Mitral Valve, TAVR, TEE, and Watchman procedures preferred.
- Experience assisting in advanced cardiac procedures preferred.
