Job Summary:
- Under the direction of a radiologist, the CT Technologist operates computed tomography (CT) equipment to perform high-quality diagnostic imaging studies.
- This role ensures adherence to safety protocols, patient care standards, and proper radiation protection practices.
- The technologist collaborates with medical staff and patients, reviews and archives images, and supports related imaging operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate CT scanners and related imaging equipment according to prescribed protocols.
- Perform studies in alignment with radiologist direction and clinical guidelines.
- Ensure proper radiation safety and patient protection measures.
- Review, archive, and label imaging studies with correct patient data.
- Collaborate effectively with imaging staff, nurses, physicians, patients, and visitors.
- Support department needs and perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Education & Certifications:
- 1–2 years of college or a degree in a healthcare-related field.
- Completion of an ARRT-accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- ARRT registered RT(R) in Diagnostic Radiology.
- State of Wisconsin Radiographer license.
- CT advanced certification (required within 18 months of hire/transfer).
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – American Heart Association or equivalent (required within 3 months of hire).
Required Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of full-time clinical experience in Diagnostic Radiology.
Preferred Experience:
- Previous hands-on experience operating CT equipment.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of diagnostic radiologic procedures.
- Proficient in radiation safety and CT operation protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented and capable of working independently and as part of a clinical team.
