Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Prepares patient for examination focusing on patient comfort and satisfaction, explains the procedure in easy-to-understand terms performs ultrasound procedures, relieve patients of pre-testing anxiety and directly observes the and monitors the patient during the entire process.
- Sets-up equipment to administer procedures in a timely fashion.
- Carefully reviews prior reports and images, and patient chart.
- Ensures that proper images have been obtained, studies are complete and through, appropriate techniques have been employed, reader is notified.
- Maintains records and logs exams performed.
- Maintains control of inventory and purchases of supplies for the assigned area.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- BLS
- Inpatient cases in echocardiography. -Proficiency in valvular assessment with strong spectra
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Graduate of CAAHEP or ABHES Cardiovascular Technology Program preferred.
- Registered Cardiac Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from American Heart Association (AHA)
- Experience documented by institutional referral with a minimum of 200 inpatient cases in echocardiography.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- TAVR, Mitral Clip, Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, VAD, closure device protocols.
- TEE and Stress Echo experience.
- Familiarity with 3D echo imaging.
- Maintaining ICAEL-accreditation echo lab standards.
- Experience using Philips ie33 and Epiq systems.
- Familiarity with Epic hospital information system.
