Sonographer

Job Description

Job Summary:

• Performs high quality diagnostic sonographic examinations and assists physicians with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Provides guidance and instruction for students, residents, and other technologists as needed.

Required Education:

• Graduate of a Medical Sonography Program accredited by Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Canadian Medical Association (CMA).

Required Certifications & Licensure:

• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required.
• ARDMS certified in breast ultrasound and physics (BR) within 9 months.
• Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with advanced certification through ARRT in Breast Sonography (BS) is required within 12 months of hire for ARRT.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Department related sonography experience.
