Job Summary
- The Anesthesia Technician assists with direct patient care activities and supports Anesthesia Providers during anesthesia delivery.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assisting with intubation, monitor setup, patient positioning, cricoid pressure, and manual ventilation.
- Supporting IV, arterial, central venous, and Swan-Ganz catheter placements using sterile technique.
- Monitoring and transporting patients with invasive lines or ventilators.
- Operating and troubleshooting anesthesia equipment such as TEE, BIS, cerebral oximeters, rapid infusers, Client products, and anesthesia machines.
- Performing blood analysis (e.g., ABGs, glucose, hematocrit, ACT, TEG), urine pregnancy tests, and transcribing/documenting lab results.
- Inspecting, cleaning, and testing patient care equipment; performing room turnovers and supporting team workflow.
Education:
- Required: High School diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred: Associate degree from an accredited allied health field.
Licensure & Certifications:
- Required: American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers or AHA-approved equivalent.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of one (1) year of patient-related care experience.
- Completion of two (2) years as an Anesthesia Aide plus one (1) year of Anesthesia Tech progression training.
