Job Summary:
- The Sterile Processing Technician performs a range of duties related to the cleaning, sterilization, and distribution of instruments, supplies, and equipment used in patient care and surgical procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare treatment rooms and organize surgical instruments, trays, and equipment.
- Clean and decontaminate instruments, containers, and patient equipment according to protocols.
- Operate semi-automatic and automatic washers and sterilization equipment.
- Manage inventory including receiving, stocking, rotating, and removing expired items.
- Fulfill and distribute internal supply orders.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, manufacturer, and infection control guidelines.
Education and Experience:
- HS-GED degree.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Neuro and Spine procedures.
Certification:Â
- CSFA required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of sterilization techniques and infection control practices.
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented surgical environment.
