Job Description

Job Summary:

  • The Sterile Processing Technician performs a range of duties related to the cleaning, sterilization, and distribution of instruments, supplies, and equipment used in patient care and surgical procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare treatment rooms and organize surgical instruments, trays, and equipment.
  • Clean and decontaminate instruments, containers, and patient equipment according to protocols.
  • Operate semi-automatic and automatic washers and sterilization equipment.
  • Manage inventory including receiving, stocking, rotating, and removing expired items.
  • Fulfill and distribute internal supply orders.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, manufacturer, and infection control guidelines.

Education and Experience:

  • HS-GED degree.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Neuro and Spine procedures.

Certification: 

  • CSFA required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of sterilization techniques and infection control practices.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented surgical environment.
