Registered Respiratory Therapist (Travel)

Job Description

Job Summary:

• The Registered Respiratory Therapist provides advanced cardiopulmonary care and manages patients requiring respiratory therapy.
• Delivers care in accordance with physician orders, established protocols, and hospital policies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Administer respiratory therapies including oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, inhaled medications, airway clearance, invasive and non-invasive ventilation, and bedside spirometry.
• Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation in emergency situations.
• Review physician orders and patient diagnostics to provide appropriate therapy.
• Assess patient response and adjust care as needed.
• Educate patients on respiratory equipment use.
• Accurately document treatments and maintain compliance with hospital policies.
• Collaborate effectively with healthcare teams.

Required Certifications:

• RRT, RCP, BLS, PALS, NRP.

Preferred Certifications:

• NBRC, NPS.

Experience Required:

• Minimum 2 years of Level IV NICU experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Strong knowledge of respiratory care modalities and equipment.
• Ability to work in high-stress environments.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Basic computer and EMR documentation proficiency.
