Job Description
Job Summary:
- The Interventional Radiology Technologist, under general supervision of a Radiologist, performs interventional radiology procedures on ambulatory and hospitalized patients in accordance with physician orders, established protocols, and regulatory standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform high-quality interventional radiology procedures following established protocols.
- Scrub and assist in neuro and stroke interventional cases.
- Prepare patients and procedure rooms, including positioning and equipment setup.
- Maintain sterile technique during invasive procedures.
- Ensure patient and staff safety by adhering to radiation safety, infection control, and medication policies.
- Communicate clearly with patients and families regarding procedures.
- Maintain accurate patient records, documentation, and imaging in EMR/PACS systems.
- Monitor equipment performance and report issues as needed.
- Participate in call rotation and emergency procedures.
Certifications:
- ARRT
- ARRT (VI)
- BLS (AHA only)
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years Interventional Radiology experience.
- Must have experience scrubbing neuro and stroke cases.
- Experience working with biplane equipment required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong patient communication and professionalism.
- Ability to perform efficiently in a high-acuity environment.
- Knowledge of emergency response procedures and first aid.
- Experience across all patient age groups.
- Willingness to take call as required.
