Job Description

Job Summary:

  • The Interventional Radiology Technologist, under general supervision of a Radiologist, performs interventional radiology procedures on ambulatory and hospitalized patients in accordance with physician orders, established protocols, and regulatory standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform high-quality interventional radiology procedures following established protocols.
  • Scrub and assist in neuro and stroke interventional cases.
  • Prepare patients and procedure rooms, including positioning and equipment setup.
  • Maintain sterile technique during invasive procedures.
  • Ensure patient and staff safety by adhering to radiation safety, infection control, and medication policies.
  • Communicate clearly with patients and families regarding procedures.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, documentation, and imaging in EMR/PACS systems.
  • Monitor equipment performance and report issues as needed.
  • Participate in call rotation and emergency procedures.

Certifications:

  • ARRT
  • ARRT (VI)
  • BLS (AHA only)

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years Interventional Radiology experience.
  • Must have experience scrubbing neuro and stroke cases.
  • Experience working with biplane equipment required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong patient communication and professionalism.
  • Ability to perform efficiently in a high-acuity environment.
  • Knowledge of emergency response procedures and first aid.
  • Experience across all patient age groups.
  • Willingness to take call as required.
