Job Description
Job Summary:
- The Endoscopy Technician I, under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse, assists with technical procedures, patient care services, and other assigned duties.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain equipment safely in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Assist physicians and clinical staff with procedures requiring aseptic technique while observing standard precautions.
- Prepare patients for examinations or procedures and assist physicians as needed.
- Transport equipment carts to various areas of the facility.
- Observe patients, recognize changes in condition, and promptly seek appropriate assistance.
- Clean procedure rooms before and after cases and transport soiled equipment to the decontamination area.
- Maintain adequate inventory of equipment and supplies and place orders as needed.
- Set up procedure rooms ensuring all equipment and supplies are available and functioning properly.
- Restock supplies in assigned rooms at the end of each shift.
- Perform quality checks on equipment and ensure proper cleaning, disinfection, and repairs as required.
Certifications:
- BLS (AHA only).
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
- Ability to see and hear with or without correction.
- Takes responsibility for participating in performance improvement activities.
- Attends 100% of required in-service education.
- Attends at least 50% of staff meetings or reviews content if unable to attend.
