Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities::

  • This role performs a variety of computed tomography (CT) procedures.
  • Perform computed tomography techniques and examinations.
  • Conducts a variety of computed tomography (CT) procedures including biopsies, cardiac CT, and post-processing.
  • Produce computed tomography scans for diagnostic interpretation.
  • Operate CT equipment and select technical factors and positioning/safety devices.
  • Responsible for proper identification on images, including both identification and demographic information 100% of the time.
  • Document all related data.
  • Provide radiation protection for patients, families, staff, the general public and self.
  • Other responsibilities.
  • Identify, process, transfer and archive patient exams including exam records, images and patient demographics.
  • Maintain the integrity and security of the radiology information systems.
  • Resolve and escalate complex issues.
  • Subject to on-call status including weekends and holidays.

Required Education:

  • High school diploma or GED.

Required Certifications & Licensure:

  • Certification in Computed Tomography (CT) certification from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • OR -Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Intermediate knowledge of computed tomography imaging.
  • Intermediate knowledge of picture archiving and communication systems (PACS).
  • Intermediate knowledge of radiology information systems.
  • Intermediate knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
  • Basic proficiency with office software (Microsoft Office) including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
