Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform MRI procedures for adult and pediatric patients.
  • Prepare patients for imaging procedures and verify clinical history.
  • Operate MRI equipment safely and efficiently following departmental protocols.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, patients, and families to provide quality patient care.
  • Transfer images to PACS and document technical findings accurately.
  • Conduct post-procedure quality reviews and ensure imaging meets accreditation standards.
  • Perform operator-level quality control, equipment cleaning, and high-level disinfection.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with hospital policies.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited cardiovascular program or JRCERT-accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • AHA BLS certification required.
  • Must meet eligibility requirements for MRI Certification (must obtain MRI certification within 12 months of hire).
  • Pediatric MRI experience required.
  • Knowledge of MRI principles, anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and patient positioning.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong communication, documentation, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm in high-pressure situations.

Preferences:

  • Philips MRI experience preferred.
  • Associate’s degree or higher preferred.
