Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform specialized real-time fluoroscopic imaging for diagnostic, interventional, invasive, and operative procedures.
- Assist providers with image-guided procedures following established protocols.
- Administer contrast safely as required.
- Operate specialized radiologic and fluoroscopic equipment and optimize image quality while minimizing radiation dose.
- Prepare patients for procedures, monitor vital signs, provide comfort, and maintain a sterile field.
- Transfer images/data to the appropriate electronic health system and complete technical documentation.
- Perform post-procedure quality reviews, equipment cleaning, disinfection, maintenance, and quality-control checks.
- Support quality assurance and performance improvement activities.
- Provide on-call coverage as assigned, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
- May participate in student teaching, precepting, and onboarding of new staff.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited imaging/radiology program recognized by ARRT, or completion of a JRCERT-accredited military educational program.
- None required; position is suitable for candidates developing fluoroscopy experience or experienced imaging professionals entering fluoroscopy.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required upon hire.
ARRT(RT) certification required. - Knowledge of radiologic technology, medical imaging, patient positioning, anatomy/physiology, fluoroscopy equipment, sterile technique, and radiation dose reduction.
- Ability to follow HIPAA standards and maintain accurate documentation.
- Strong communication, teamwork, organization, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to remain calm in stressful clinical situations and provide patient-centered care.
Preferences:
- Prior fluoroscopy experience.
- Experience with invasive/interventional or operative imaging environments.
- Experience with specialized fluoroscopic equipment and image optimization.
- Teaching, precepting, or mentoring experience.
