Respiratory Therapist

Job Description

Job Summary:

• The Respiratory Therapist (RT), certified or registered through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC), is responsible for delivering cardiopulmonary care services to both inpatients and outpatients.
• The RT will follow approved medical protocols and departmental policies to perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures that support respiratory health and function.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist physicians with invasive and non-invasive procedures
• Deliver medicated aerosols using compressed medical gases
• Manage airways and provide ventilator support
• Insert arterial lines and perform intubations
• Conduct pulmonary function tests, cardiac and pulmonary stress testing
• Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) collection and interpretation

Licensure & Certification:

• NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – Required.
• Active Ohio RT license – Required (must be included on resume).
• ACLS and BLS certifications from the American Heart Association – Required.
• All documentation must be attached to submission.

Experience:

• Minimum 1 year of recent hospital-based RT experience – Required.
