Job Description
Job Summary:
- The Respiratory Therapist (RT), certified or registered through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC), is responsible for delivering cardiopulmonary care services to both inpatients and outpatients.
- The RT will follow approved medical protocols and departmental policies to perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures that support respiratory health and function.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist physicians with invasive and non-invasive procedures
- Deliver medicated aerosols using compressed medical gases
- Manage airways and provide ventilator support
- Insert arterial lines and perform intubations
- Conduct pulmonary function tests, cardiac and pulmonary stress testing
- Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) collection and interpretation
Licensure & Certification:
- NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – Required.
- Active Ohio RT license – Required (must be included on resume).
- ACLS and BLS certifications from the American Heart Association – Required.
- All documentation must be attached to submission.
Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of recent hospital-based RT experience – Required.
