Job Summary:
- Perform respiratory care and pulmonary diagnostic procedures for patients with cardiopulmonary conditions in accordance with hospital and departmental policies
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide therapeutic treatments and diagnostic testing using medical gases, equipment, humidification, and aerosols.
- Administer medications to the cardiopulmonary system.
- Provide ventilatory support and manage life support systems.
- Perform bronClientulmonary clearance and breathing exercises.
- Educate patients and perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
- Maintain natural and artificial airways.
- Deliver care in both critical and non-critical care settings across all patient age groups.
- Follow organizational mission, vision, and values.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Education:
- Associate Degree from a CoARC accredited Respiratory Care program.
Preferred Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Care.
Required Certifications & Licensure:
- Current State of Wisconsin License as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP).
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from NBRC.
- BLS
- ACLS
- NRP
Preferred Certifications & Licensure:
- American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) membership.
- Wisconsin Society for Respiratory Care (WSRC) membership.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of worked or educational clinical experience in both general and critical care.
- Respiratory care and pulmonary diagnostic procedures.
- Therapeutic treatment and diagnostic testing using medical gases and equipment.
- Medication administration to the cardiopulmonary system.
- Ventilatory support and life support systems management.
- BronClientulmonary clearance and breathing exercises.
- Patient education and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
- Maintenance of natural and artificial airways.
- Experience in both critical care and non-critical care settings.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- 2+ years of hospital respiratory care experience.
