Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform angiographic procedures, invasive vascular treatments, and diagnostic/interventional Cath Lab procedures.
- Provide comprehensive care to adult and geriatric cardiovascular and peripheral angiography patients.
- Function as a scrub technologist during cardiovascular and interventional radiology procedures using sterile technique.
- Set up sterile trays and specialized equipment for procedures.
- Monitor patient condition and promptly report changes to physicians and nursing staff.
- Maintain hemostasis using compression devices, closure devices, or manual compression.
- Perform arterial and venous sheath removal and groin management.
- Ensure compliance with radiation safety policies and proper use of protective equipment.
- Educate patients and families throughout the care process.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide safe, high-quality patient care.
- Respond to emergency situations and participate in on-call coverage.
Required Education:
- Graduate from an accredited school of Radiological Technology.
Required Certifications & Licensure:
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT(R)).
- Valid Ohio Radiologic License.
- BLS (American Heart Assoc.)
- ACLS (American Heart Assoc.) within one year of hire.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of Cath Lab experience.
- Ability to independently scrub and operate X-ray procedures.
- Required Impella device experience.
- 1–2 years of cardiovascular/interventional radiology experience.
- Knowledge of cardiovascular and peripheral anatomy.
- Experience with arterial and venous sheath removal.
- Knowledge of radiation safety practices.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to participate in weekday and weekend call rotation with a 30-minute response time.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Experience with peripheral vascular procedures.
- Experience with structural heart procedures.
- Experience in high-volume hospitals.
- ACLS certification at the time of hire.
- Strong professionalism and teamwork skills.
