  • Temp-perm role. Please only submit candidates who are interested in converting to FTE. The manager is looking for this worker to complete the 13-week engagement and convert to FTE at the end of the engagement.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited laboratory technologist program.

Required Certifications & Licensure:

  • Valid license to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist (092) issued by NYSED with Primary Source Verification.

Preferred Certifications & Licensure:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS).

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 2–3+ years of Clinical Laboratory Technologist experience.
  • Blood Bank experience.

Job Summary:

  • Under direction, with very broad latitude for independent judgment and decision-making, supervises, trains, assigns work to, and evaluates work performance of personnel in a small laboratory or laboratory sub-unit performing routine and complex clinical laboratory tests and analyses.
  • In addition to performing the typical tasks of lower assignment levels at a higher level, also performs the following responsibilities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintains a program of quality control and participates in a program of quality assurance.
  • Advises staff on appropriate methods and techniques.
  • Oversees the ordering and maintenance of laboratory supplies and equipment as well as the preparation, packaging, labeling, and standardization of laboratory media and reagents; records results and pertinent data of prepared products or oversees this function.
  • Prepares labels, packages, and standardizes laboratory media, reagents, controls, and specimens for use in analyses.
  • Prepares work orders for laboratory repairs.
  • Assists in developing and revising laboratory policies and procedures.
  • Conducts tests and other complex analyses.
  • Designs and maintains charts, logs, and other records.
  • May prepare correspondence and narrative or statistical reports.
  • May participate in or supervise the preparation, administration, and rating of laboratory proficiency test programs.
  • May testify in court or other proceedings as an expert witness.
