Job Description

Weekend Requirement:

  • On call 1-2 weekend per month

On Call Requirement:

  • 8-12 day of call

Job Summary:

  • Performs diagnostic and interventional procedures as requested by physicians.
  • Provides care for patients while obtaining diagnostic quality images for interpretation by a Radiologist/Cardiologist.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Graduation from accredited radiologic technology program.

Certification/Licenses:

  • ARRT and New Mexico State licensure required.
  • BLS certification required.
  • ACLS obtained within one year.
  • Certification issued by ARRT applicable to cardiac or vascular intervention (CV, CI or VI), or RCIS Certification.

Skills:

  • Thorough knowledge of associated radiographic equipment, neurological and cardiovascular anatomy and physiology, radiographic positioning, medical terminology and basic computer skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of interventional procedures in Cardiology and Radiology preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally in English.

Experience:

  • One year radiologic experience required and one year interventional or cath lab experience preferred.

Environment:

  • Bloodborne pathogen – C.
  • Exposure to various body fluids and ionizing radiation.
