Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

The CT technologist will demonstrate professionalism and service excellence when performing the following tasks:

  • Obtains necessary medical, surgical and radiological supplies for specific procedures according to established protocols.
  • Communicates to the patient and family before, during and after the procedure to alleviate anxiety while maintaining privacy and dignity of the patient.
  • Maintains adequate linen supplies in each scanning room.
  • Maintains adequate contrast media and biopsy/drainage supplies in each scanning room.
  • Notifies Lead of expired or soon to expire equipment or medications.
  • Participates in the routine cleaning of the CT gantry, table and peripheral equipment after each use.
  • Assigns staff to ensure efficient workflow while maintaining an environment of patient safety.
  • Screens for allergies/medication incompatibilities.
  • Recognizes unusual conditions in the operation of equipment.
  • Alerts appropriate personnel of equipment malfunctions.
  • Adheres to venipuncture and power injector protocols.
  • When doing cases that require immediate results such as Code Grey, Trauma and Partial Trauma the images will be acquired, processed, sent and verified/completed in PACS / RIS system per established protocol (Immediately after acquisition for Code Grey).

Required Education:

  • HS diploma/GED.
  • Completion of a Radiographer Technical training program from a School of Radiography or College based Radiography program.

Required Certifications & Licensure:

  • ARRT RT (R)
  • ARRT RT (CT)
  • NJDEP – New Jersey State X-Ray License.
  • BLS Certification.

Note:

  • Stipend is also provided to the candidate living more than 50 miles from the facility
  • Other locations available in NJ.
  • Local/Travel Contracts available in multiple departments in all states.
