Job Summary:
- The Radiologic Technologist I is responsible for obtaining diagnostic radiographic images without the need for constant supervision.
- This role includes performing portable x-rays and helping with patient positioning and movement to ensure accurate imaging.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic x-rays by positioning patients, utilizing immobilization devices, and selecting technical factors appropriate to the patient’s condition.
- Limit radiation exposure by using cones and collimators.
- Conduct portable x-ray exams in various settings (patient rooms, OR, ER).
- Label and process films with accurate patient and exam information.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure cleanliness and organization of the x-ray room.
- Prepare and assist in the use of radiopaque contrast media.
- Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling and documentation.
- Adapt care based on patients’ specific needs, including cultural and communication considerations.
- Comply with organizational standards and competencies.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program.
- Completion of clinical training and A.R.R.T. requirements.
Licensure & Certification:
- Valid New Jersey Radiologic Technologist License.
- Must meet National Registry requirements and pass the certification exam.
