Job Summary:
Join our team in Raleigh, NC, a vibrant city known for its rich culture, excellent schools, and thriving healthcare community. We are seeking a dedicated professional to administer radiation therapy in accordance with physician’s instructions and the patient’s treatment plan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enter data into computer systems and set controls to operate and adjust equipment to regulate dosage.
- Assist physicians, radiation oncologists, clinical physicists, and others to prepare physical and technical aspects of radiation treatment plans using patient condition and anatomy information.
- Construct patient immobilization devices as ordered by physicians.
- Maintain patient and billing records, reports, and files according to department policies, including radiation dosages, equipment settings, and patient reactions.
- Perform routine and complex radiation therapy treatments such as total body irradiation, stereotactic radiosurgery, and brachytherapy according to established practices and standards.
- Prepare equipment and room for the patient.
- Use appropriate protective equipment and procedures to ensure the safety of patients, self, and others.
- Perform quality assurance procedures per state and federal guidelines.
- Provide on-the-job clinical instruction and evaluation for student radiation therapists.
Required Experience:
- Elekta and Mosaiq Experience
Required Education:
- Graduation from a Radiation Therapy Technologist program approved by the Council of Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA).
Required Certifications:
- Radiation Therapy certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
