Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

Information:

  • Performs tasks with appropriate urgency and accuracy while reducing waste through proactive measures

Competence in technology required of the position:

  • Prioritizes tasks based on identification of urgency.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in job-related software.

Procedures and Policies:

  • Collaborates effectively and positively with colleagues and other medical staff.

Education  & Certifications:

  • Successful completion of a Polysomnography program, of no less than one year’s duration,  associated with a state licensed and/or nationally accredited educational facility or  equivalent experience and documented proficiency at all competencies required of a Polysomnographic Technician.
  • Certification by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic technologists as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist or equivalent.
  • Current CPR certification (BLS for Healthcare Providers by the American Heart Association).

Skills:

  • The Polysomnographic Technologist, a registered RPSGT or RST with a minimum of one-year clinical experience in sleep, provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders under the direction of a physician.
  • This includes polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic services, patient care and education.
