Mammography Technologist

Job Description

Job Summary:

• Under site designate leader, and according to established policies and procedures performs accurate and efficient Mammography exams utilizing appropriate imaging equipment, independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative.
• Technologists must demonstrate good clinical skills and provide the best possible images for interpretation.
  Always follows Client philosophy of Patient and Family Centered Care.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs quality Mammography exams after verification of patient identification, physician order and correct exam charge in EPIC.
• Demonstrates ability to proficiently operate Mammography imaging equipment.
• Obtain the highest quality images by using the appropriate techniques for patient positioning for screening, tomography, and diagnostic exams, and invasive mammography procedures.
• Monitors patients during procedures to ensure patient safety.
• Maintains and pursues professional development per ARRT requirements.
• Knowledge with hospital computer site software systems for charging, viewing schedules and PACS for sending information both accurately and efficiently.
• Effectively communicates on an inter/intra – departmental level with administrative, medical staff, and peers.
• Clean and restock exam rooms, storerooms, and monitor department cleanliness.
• Actively participates in safety initiatives and risk mitigating measures where appropriate and completes all position and unit safety related competencies and requirements on a timely basis.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Required Associate’s Degree Graduate of Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) Accredited Radiography program.
• 1 year of relevant experience 1-3 years’ experience beyond staff radiographer level. Preferred.
• CRT-Radiologic Technologist Registration – ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Upon Hire required.
• CRT-Radiographer (R) – ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Upon Hire required.
• CRT- Mammography (M).
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire required Or CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) – ARC client Upon Hire required.
