Job Description

Job Summary:

  • We are seeking a Registered Dietitian (RD) to provide comprehensive nutritional care for patients in an acute care setting.
  • The ideal candidate will assess nutritional needs, develop individualized nutrition care plans, educate patients and families, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and monitor patient outcomes to ensure high-quality clinical care.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive nutritional assessments and identify nutrition-related concerns.
  • Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans.
  • Provide medical nutrition therapy, including:
  • Therapeutic diets.
  • Enteral nutrition.
  • Parenteral nutrition.
  • Nutrition education and counseling.
  • Monitor patient progress and modify care plans as needed.
  • Assess food tolerance and nutritional intake.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on dietary plans and nutrition management.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, quality improvement initiatives, and special projects.
  • Conduct staff education and community nutrition programs when required.
  • Mentor dietetic interns and students.
  • Maintain professional competency and comply with organizational policies.

Required Qualifications:

  • Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN).
  • Minimum 1 year of recent full-time experience (within the last 5 years) in:
  • Acute Care Hospital
  • Nursing Home
  • Inpatient Rehabilitation
  • LTACH
  • Candidates with 1 year of experience within the past 8 years may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Experience performing Nutrition Focused Physical Examination (NFPE).
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • Enteral Nutrition
  • Parenteral Nutrition
  • Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and clinical documentation systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ICU experience.
  • Strong background in clinical nutrition support.
