Job Summary:
- We are seeking a Registered Dietitian (RD) to provide comprehensive nutritional care for patients in an acute care setting.
- The ideal candidate will assess nutritional needs, develop individualized nutrition care plans, educate patients and families, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and monitor patient outcomes to ensure high-quality clinical care.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive nutritional assessments and identify nutrition-related concerns.
- Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans.
- Provide medical nutrition therapy, including:
- Therapeutic diets.
- Enteral nutrition.
- Parenteral nutrition.
- Nutrition education and counseling.
- Monitor patient progress and modify care plans as needed.
- Assess food tolerance and nutritional intake.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Educate patients and caregivers on dietary plans and nutrition management.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, quality improvement initiatives, and special projects.
- Conduct staff education and community nutrition programs when required.
- Mentor dietetic interns and students.
- Maintain professional competency and comply with organizational policies.
Required Qualifications:
- Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN).
- Minimum 1 year of recent full-time experience (within the last 5 years) in:
- Acute Care Hospital
- Nursing Home
- Inpatient Rehabilitation
- LTACH
- Candidates with 1 year of experience within the past 8 years may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
- Experience performing Nutrition Focused Physical Examination (NFPE).
- Hands-on experience with:
- Enteral Nutrition
- Parenteral Nutrition
- Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and clinical documentation systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ICU experience.
- Strong background in clinical nutrition support.
