Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and holiday.
Job Summary:
- Under the general supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Supervisor, the Respiratory Therapist delivers life-support, resuscitation, monitoring, and medical gas therapy to patients.
- Performs both invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures for patients in Intensive Care and
- General Practice Units.
- Maintains clinical expertise to support departmental assignments across various business units as needed.
- Communicates effectively with patients, physicians, co-workers, and other staff regarding patient care needs.
- Ensures accurate documentation of all patient care activities and billing information.
- May supervise, direct, and delegate tasks to Respiratory Therapists, respiratory therapy students, externs, and new staff as assigned.
Required: Associate of Science Degree from an accredited Respiratory Therapist program.
Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy.
Certifications & Licensure:
Required:
- Registration with the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
- Current Respiratory Therapist License in the State of Michigan.
Preferred:
- BLS Certification.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of recent Respiratory Therapist experience.
- NICU experience (must be current or within the last year; experience must be clearly listed).
- Technology Experience:Cerner.
- High Frequency Oscillating Ventilator.
- Servo I and Servo U Ventilators.
- Soft Skills:Strong communication skills.
- Good organizational skills.
