Job Description
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of echocardiography experience.
- At least 2+ years of acute inpatient echo experience in a Trauma 1 level facility.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Proficiency in a wide range of high-quality echo procedures that meet accreditation standards, including transthoracic echocardiograms (TTEs), stress echocardiograms, and transesophageal echocardiograms (TEEs), with appropriate use of 3D echo and strain imaging.
- In-depth knowledge of complex cardiac anatomy and pathology to ensure precise imaging and comprehensive assessments.
- Strict adherence to lab standards and protocols to maintain consistency and diagnostic accuracy.
- Expertise in optimizing image quality through meticulous scanning techniques, appropriate equipment settings, and the effective use of ultrasound contrast agents.
- Ability to efficiently manage high-volume workflows in a critical care environment while maintaining superior diagnostic quality.
- Exceptional patient care and communication skills, ensuring comfort and understanding throughout procedures.
- Strong time management skills to balance workload and ensure timely completion of studies.
- Commitment to a collaborative work culture, fostering teamwork and continuous improvement through active participation in case reviews, feedback sessions, and educational opportunities with sonographers, cardiologists, and fellows.
- Adherence to ASE (American Society of Echocardiography) and IAC (Intersocietal Accreditation Commission) standards, ensuring compliance with industry best practices and quality benchmarks.
Schedule Notes:
- Rotating days shifts to include weekends (1-2 weekends per month).
- Overnight call 5:00 pm to 6:30 am 2-3 nights per month, strict guidelines and cardiologist approval to be called in.
- 6:30 AM 5:00 PM or 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM (10-hour shifts).
