Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform and document cardiology service modalities, including ECG, echocardiograms, stress echoes, ECG stress tests, and vascular studies, ensuring adherence to departmental policies and procedures.
  • Instruct and assist patients in preparation for testing and procedures, maintaining patient privacy at all times.
  • Monitor patients during testing/procedures, recognize dysrhythmias and echo pathologies, and notify physicians immediately if needed.
  • Evaluate each study to ensure it meets required quality standards and prepare reports for physicians.
  • Apply and discontinue Holter monitors, upload data, and maintain equipment according to manufacturer guidelines.

Education and Certifications / License:

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Current certification as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) required.
  • Current AHA or equivalent BLS certification.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Cardiology experience in inpatient or outpatient settings.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in ultrasound and cardiology.
