Job Summary:
- As a Respiratory Therapist with Client, you can help patients breathe more easily and live life more comfortably.
- You’ll collaborate with a highly skilled clinical team to help diagnose, monitor, and treat conditions that affect the lungs and breathing in people of all ages.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs evaluation to determine respiratory care needs, and makes appropriate recommendations and changes in accordance with policy and protocol guidelines.
- Assesses effectiveness of treatment and accurately documents according to department and legal/regulatory standards.
- Performs point of care testing as required.
- Performs advanced evaluation, management and therapeutic procedures (interventions) for patients requiring respiratory assistance.
- Assesses effectiveness of intervention and accurately documents according to department and legal/regulatory standards.
- Completes and documents required education and competencies within designated timeframe. Maintains competency in areas of accountability.
- Accurate and timely completion of all necessary documentation and billing.
- Facilitates a smooth transition for the patient to appropriate referral services / the next point of service / home and provides education to patients and families as it relates to respiratory issues.
- Instructs and trains other respiratory care staff, nursing and other medical personnel and students regarding patient needs and respiratory care services.
Education:
- Associate’s Degree – Respiratory Therapy – Required.
- Bachelor’s Degree – Respiratory Therapy – Preferred.
Licenses/Certifications:
- LIC-Respiratory Therapist – STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire Required.
- CRT-Respiratory Therapist Registry – NBRC National Board for Respiratory Care Upon Hire Required.
- CRT-Hyperbaric Technologist, Certified (CHT) – NBDHMT National Board of Diving and Hyperbaric Medical Technology Hyperbaric Upon Hire Required.
- CRT-Sedation – ANCC American Nurses Credentialing Center Bronchoscopy and Endoscopy 180 Days Required.
- CRT-Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – AHA American Heart Association Regional Hospitals and NICU 90 Days Required.
- CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – AHA American Heart Association Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab 90 Days Required.
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA American Heart Association 90 Days Required Or CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) – ARC client 90 Days Required.
