Respiratory Therapist

Job Description

Job Summary:

• Under the general supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Supervisor, the Respiratory Therapist provides life-support, resuscitation, patient monitoring, and medical gas therapies.
• Responsibilities include performing invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures for patients in Intensive Care and General Practice units, maintaining clinical expertise across assigned business units, and collaborating effectively with patients, physicians, and healthcare team members.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Accurately documenting all aspects of patient care.
• Supervising and mentoring Respiratory Therapists, new hires, externs, and students as assigned.
• Completing accurate patient billing documentation.
• Maintaining high standards of patient care and communication.

Required Education:

• Associate of Science Degree, from an accredited Respiratory Therapist program.

Preferred Education:

• Bachelors in Respiratory Therapy preferred.

Required Certification & Licensure:

• Registration with the National Board of Respiratory Care.
• Current License – Respiratory Therapist in the State of Michigan.
• BLS.

Required Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of recent Respiratory Therapist experience.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience with Varian and ARIA systems.
• Experience working with TrueBeam linear accelerators.
