Job Description

Job Summary:

• We are seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide comprehensive respiratory care for patients in an acute care setting.
• The therapist will assess, treat, and monitor patients with cardiopulmonary conditions while collaborating with the healthcare team to deliver quality patient care.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Administer respiratory treatments including oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, inhaled medications, airway clearance, and mechanical ventilation.
• Perform patient assessments and develop appropriate respiratory care plans.
• Monitor and manage invasive and non-invasive ventilator support.
• Respond to cardiopulmonary emergencies and perform CPR as needed.
• Review physician orders, diagnostic results, and adjust therapy based on patient condition.
• Educate patients on respiratory equipment and treatment plans.
• Document treatments, patient responses, and clinical interventions accurately.
• Follow infection control, HIPAA, and hospital policies.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.

Requirements:

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
• Active Texas Respiratory Care Practitioner License.
• BLS (AHA) certification required.
• Minimum 2 years of recent Respiratory Therapy experience in an acute care hospital.
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and patient assessment skills.
• Experience with ventilator management and respiratory care equipment.
• Proficiency with electronic medical documentation.
