Job Description
Job Summary:
- We are seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide comprehensive respiratory care for patients in an acute care setting.
- The therapist will assess, treat, and monitor patients with cardiopulmonary conditions while collaborating with the healthcare team to deliver quality patient care.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Administer respiratory treatments including oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, inhaled medications, airway clearance, and mechanical ventilation.
- Perform patient assessments and develop appropriate respiratory care plans.
- Monitor and manage invasive and non-invasive ventilator support.
- Respond to cardiopulmonary emergencies and perform CPR as needed.
- Review physician orders, diagnostic results, and adjust therapy based on patient condition.
- Educate patients on respiratory equipment and treatment plans.
- Document treatments, patient responses, and clinical interventions accurately.
- Follow infection control, HIPAA, and hospital policies.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
Requirements:
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
- Active Texas Respiratory Care Practitioner License.
- BLS (AHA) certification required.
- Minimum 2 years of recent Respiratory Therapy experience in an acute care hospital.
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and patient assessment skills.
- Experience with ventilator management and respiratory care equipment.
- Proficiency with electronic medical documentation.
