Job Summary:
- Performs a variety of technical procedures utilizing diagnostic ultrasound equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Accurately performs a variety of technical procedures efficiently utilizing ultrasonic machinery for the diagnosis of disease.
- Positions, transfers, and immobilizes patients, as necessary to perform diagnostic procedures.
- Adjusts machinery and ancillary equipment parameters in accordance with prescribed procedures to obtain diagnostic medical/legal ultrasound images.
- Assists in equipment calibration to maintain department standards.
- Understands and performs high level probe disinfection.
- Schedules exams and maintains department records.
- Assists in quality control programs for the maintenance of prescribed standards.
- Assists in quality control programs for the maintenance of prescribed standards.

- Independent judgment in planning sequence of operations and making minor decisions in a complex technical or professional field.
Working Relationships:
- Works directly with patients and/or customers.
- Works with internal/external customers.
- Works with other healthcare professionals and staff.
- Works frequently with individuals at director level or above.
Required Education:
- Completion of an accredited Technical Ultrasound Program.
Required Certification & Licensure:
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS).
- BLS.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in vascular and general ultrasound.
- Ability to perform basic ultrasound echo and/or peripheral vascular studies.
- Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work in an effective and efficient manner.
