Job Summary:
- Under supervision of the RN and clinical leadership, assists with endoscopy procedures and provides patient care support before, during, and after procedures.
- Monitors patients, prepares equipment, and ensures a safe and efficient environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist physicians and RN during endoscopic procedures.
- Support pre-, intra-, and post-procedure patient care.
- Monitor vital signs and patient condition.
- Prepare and handle endoscopy equipment and supplies.
- Collect and label specimens accurately.
- Clean, disinfect, and maintain instruments and equipment.
- Enter procedure details into the system.
- Assist with patient positioning and transport.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Required Education:
- High School graduate or G.E.D. equivalent.
Preferred Education:
- Graduation from an Accredited (CAAHEP/ABHES) Medical Assistant Program, Surgical Technician, or Emergency Medical Tech training, preferred.
Required Certification & Licensure:
- BLS.
Skills & Experience:
- Experience with advanced procedures (EBUS, bronchoscopy, EUS, ERCP).
- Familiarity with endoscopy equipment and reprocessing preferred.
- 2+ years of healthcare experience preferred.
