Surgical Reprocessing Technician

Job Description

Job Summary:

• Under general supervision, responsible for cleaning, inspecting, assembling, packaging, disinfecting, and sterilizing surgical instruments and equipment.
• Supports inpatient, outpatient, operating room, emergency room, delivery room, and satellite departments.
• Monitors and documents sterilization processes (steam, ETO, Sterrad, and high-level disinfectants) and ensures compliance with standards.
• Prepares and manages case carts based on surgical needs and surgeon preference cards.
• Maintains inventory, stocks supplies, and ensures availability of instruments and equipment for procedures.

Required Education:

• High School graduate or equivalent.

Preferred Education:

• Completion of medical terminology course is preferred.

Required Certification & Licensure:

• Central Service Certification.

Preferred Certification & Licensure:

• BLS preferred.

Skills & Experience:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Customer service skills.
