Job Description
Job Summary:
- Under general supervision and according to established procedures, performs routine laboratory activities including patient reception, venipuncture, data entry, and other related clinical lab duties.
Responsibilities include:
- Drawing blood.
- Rounding and transporting items from clinic to main lab.
- Handling 20–25 tubes per session.
Education:
- Required: High School Diploma or GED.
- Preferred: Completion of a Medical Assistant or Certified Phlebotomy training program.
Certifications & Licensure:
- Required: Valid, unrestricted Michigan driver’s license and ability to be insured by an HFMG insurance carrier.
Skills & Experience:
- Required: 6 months to 1 year of venipuncture experience.
- Required: Must have experience with straight needles.
- Preferred: 5+ years preferred.
- Preferred: Basic computer experience.
