Job Description

Essential Duties:

  • Surgical Assistance: Prepare and maintain sterile field, assist surgeons during procedures, and ensure proper handling of surgical instruments and supplies.
  • Endoscopy Support: Assist with endoscopic procedures and perform endoscope reprocessing using Advantage system.
  • Sterile Processing: Clean, sterilize, and prepare surgical instruments; manage reprocessing during on-call hours as needed.
  • Operating Room Preparation: Set up operating rooms with necessary equipment and supplies, including Storz laparoscopy towers and Olympus endoscopy systems.
  • Patient Safety & Compliance: Ensure adherence to infection control protocols, sterile techniques, and patient safety standards.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with surgeons, nurses, and healthcare staff to ensure efficient surgical workflow and optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain sterile environment throughout procedures
  • Assist in orthopedic, general surgery, OB/GYN, ophthalmology, podiatry, and endoscopy cases
  • Monitor and manage surgical equipment and supplies
  • Support instrument tracking and inventory management
  • Participate in on-call rotation (low volume call-ins)

Required Qualifications:

  • CST Certification
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience (5+ years preferred)
  • Strong experience in Endoscopy & Endoscopy Reprocessing
  • Experience with Sterile Processing

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in total joint surgeries
  • Open and laparoscopic bowel resections experience
